People sometimes ask whether we compete with Anytime Mailbox. We do not. We run on it, and we have for more than six years.

Anytime Mailbox is the software platform behind our digital mailbox. When you open a box with us, you get their app and web dashboard, and we do the physical work here in Pilsen: receiving, sorting, scanning, signing for packages and handing things to you in person.

That split is the whole point. They are very good at software. We are a building with staff in it. Chicago businesses need both.

Six years on the same platform

Mailbox software is harder to build well than it looks. Item intake, envelope photography, scan requests, forwarding, shredding, audit trails, notifications, security. Anytime Mailbox has spent years on all of it, across thousands of locations, and the product is better than anything a single Chicago operator could build alone.

So we did not try. We picked the platform early and stayed on it, which matters more than it sounds:

  • No migrations. Members who joined years ago still have their full mail history in the same account. We have never forced anyone onto a new system.
  • Staff who know it cold. Scan requests, address changes, forwarding quirks and USPS edge cases get handled the same day because the team has done it thousands of times.
  • A stable address. Your address has not moved and is not going to. That is worth something when it is printed on filings, licences and invoices.

What the platform does

The app is the part you touch daily, and it runs on everything: desktop, tablet, phone, even a watch notification when something lands.

  • See mail the day it arrives, with a photo of the envelope so you know what it is before opening it
  • Request an open-and-scan and read the contents as a PDF, usually within the business day
  • Forward anywhere in the world, one item or a batch, at $5 plus postage
  • Shred securely so junk never becomes clutter
  • Deposit and pickup requests without phoning anyone
  • Alerts by email or text the moment an item is logged
  • Access from anywhere, which is the point if you travel, live outside the city, or run the company from a laptop

Everything above is identical at every Anytime Mailbox location. Which is exactly why the location is the decision.

What our location adds

Anytime Mailbox operates through independent local operators, and the operator determines what your address can actually do. Ours is a staffed commercial building at 1655 S Blue Island Ave in Pilsen, open since 2015.

  • A signed agreement members use for Illinois LLC filings, City of Chicago business licensing and Google Business Profile verification. A bare mailbox usually will not clear those.
  • A notary on site, free for members on USPS Form 1583, so your paperwork does not stall waiting on an appointment.
  • Illinois registered agent at $78/yr, in the same building as your mail, with same-day scans of anything served.
  • Rooms you can use. Meeting rooms, day offices, and a podcast and video studio.
  • Free parking and free pickup. Drive over, walk in, take your package.
  • People. Staff who answer the phone, sign for FedEx, UPS, DHL and Amazon, and recognise your business name when a bank calls to verify it.

That last one is the real one. A platform can show you a photograph of an envelope. It cannot accept service of process, notarise your form, greet your client, or hand a courier a box.

Choosing an Anytime Mailbox location in Chicago

If you are comparing locations on the platform, the app will look the same at all of them. Ask the operator these instead:

1. Is this a real commercial building, or a storefront counter?

2. Has the address been accepted for Illinois LLC filings and City of Chicago licensing?

3. Is there a notary on site for Form 1583, and what does it cost?

4. Is anyone physically there during business hours to sign for carriers?

5. Can I pick up same day, and is there parking?

We answer yes to all five. Not every location does, and the differences only surface when you need them.

Getting started

Choose a plan, complete USPS Form 1583 with two forms of ID, and have it notarised. Ours is free for members and takes a few minutes in the lobby. Once approved, the address goes live, usually the same day, and your mail starts appearing in the app.

Our setup walkthrough covers using the portal day to day.
